Chiropractic Pain is an unpleasant sensation, ranging in intensity from slight through severe to indescribable. Sharp, throbbing, dull, nauseating, burning and shooting are among the qualities that pain can be experienced to have. While pain is association with an occurrence in the physical body, pain can also arise from the emotions. Pain can be a sign of tissue inflammation, an early warning sign that the body needs attention before it deteriorates to the point of disease.
Founded in the 1890s, by DD Palmer, chiropractic philosophy is that the alignment of the spine is essential to good health. Dr. Matt Grant is OsteoMed's chiropractor. His family members were regular patients of Dr. Tenpenny’s father, in Attica, Ohio, the inspiration for his career. Dr Grant is also the cornerstone of our acuscope/myopulse therapies.

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment (OMT)
The two most common forms of pain reported in the U.S. are headache and back pain; both can be rooted in a variety of causes. At OsteoMed II, doctors use many different unique yet effective techniques to get to the bottom of the problem. Our goal is to correct the cause instead of just treating the symptom.
Osteopathic medicine was founded in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still, a US medical doctor (MD). Osteopathic techniques overlap with chiropractic and CST, they are not identical. Specific techniques include muscle-energy, Jones counterstrain (also known as strain-counterstrain), myofascial release, and osteopathy in the cranial field. At Osteomed, Dr. Clay and Dr. Sherri both perform osteopathic manipulation.
The primary focus of Dr. Walsh's practice is treating pain problems, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and sports injuries. He is highly trained in Cranial Osteopathy, the study of anatomy and physiology of the cranium and its inter-relationship with the body as a whole. It may be applied for the prevention and treatment of disease and enhancement of health, within the practice of the science of osteopathy. Osteopathy in the cranial field is an expansion of the general principles of osteopathy. Treatment restores structural balance, improves vitality and can help people with many different disorders. Cranial is safe, gentle, and effective for all ages including newborns.
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is a nonsurgical ligament reconstruction, and is a treatment for chronic pain. The treatment is useful for many different types of musculoskeletal pain, including arthritis, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, unresolved whiplash injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic tendonitis, partially torn tendons, ligaments and cartilage, degenerated or herniated discs, TMJ and sciatica.
Ligaments are the structural "rubber bands" that hold bones to bones in joints. Ligaments can become weak or injured and may not heal back to their original strength or endurance. This is largely because the blood supply to ligaments is limited, and therefore healing is slow and not always complete.
To further complicate this, ligaments also have many nerve endings and therefore the person will feel pain at the areas where the ligaments are damaged or loose. Tendons are the name given to tissue which connects muscles to bones, and in the same manner tendons may also become injured, and cause pain. more
Dr Walsh uses a combination of osteopathic manual medicine, a technique called JMT, prolotherapy, neural therapy, and trigger point injections with amazing results. He also works closely with Linda, using acupuncture for pain relief. To find out more, visit Cranial Academy and The Academy of Osteopathy.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy (CST)
Pioneered by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger at Michigan State University. CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the body. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions and improve function. There is no "cracking" or sudden movements. Dr. Cindy Fraed is highly skilled in this treatment.
