Early in her practice, Dr. Cindy was instrumental in moving the birthing process into a more gentle, family centered experience. Over the years she has been honored to care for patients of various cultures and faiths including members of Mennonite communities as well as women from the Arab countries that were in her locale. She has always had a deep spirituality that has led her to learn about and respect many faith traditions. Dr. Fraed feels it is important to "meet people where they are" and take into account their entire belief system.
With Southern Illinois University nearby she continued to develop interests in psychology, taking classes in psychology and educational psychology and graduate studies in statistics. She has pursued a life long interest in alternative medicine and passed the Board exam in Holistic Medicine through the American Holistic Medicine Association in 2001.
Blending her interests in a holistic approach, psychology, and gynecology, she focused her medical practice on issues of perimenopause, menopause, women's sexual health, and pelvic pain. Through the Upledger Institute, Dr. Cindy mastered a gentle hands-on technique called Craniosacral Therapy (CST). This helped her to better evaluate pelvic pain and sexual issued caused by problems in the pelvic muscles.
Dr. Cindy has been prescribing bio-identical hormones, with the help of compounding pharmacists, for more than fifteen years. After closing her solo private practice in Illinois at the end of 2006, she has worked in various clinics focusing on contraception and other gynecological issues. She moved to Northeast Ohio in 2008 to be closer to her family. OsteoMed II is thrilled to have Dr. Cindy as part of our Osteomed family to care for women's health in a very expanded way.
