A Letter to My Patients

December, 2008

To My Patients and Friends,

I am writing to let you know that I am being deployed to Iraq from January 8th until mid May 2009 in support of a medical mission under Operation Iraqi Freedom, taking care of our beloved troops. I will be doing a second deployment in July to mid August in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).

During my temporary absence, I am referring my Akron patients to OsteoMed II in Middleburg Heights. I highly recommend that you see either Sandi Asazawa, PA or Paula Vetter, NP to continue your allergy elimination treatments. I have worked with them for many years, and I am confident that you will be in good hands with both of them. Paula has also spent time with me learning how to treat patients using JMT. Please feel free to schedule an appointment with Paula for JMT to treat chronic pain and osteoarthritis. For my patients at OsteoMed, please continue your care with my colleagues at that location until I return.

The newest addition to OsteoMed II is Dr. Cindy Fraed, MD. She is a holistic gynecologist. She has many years of experience with natural hormones and natural treatments for many different female health problems. Dr. Cindy is certified in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) through the Upledger Institute, a type of manual medicine that is similar to osteopathic manipulation. You can learn about it by going to www.upledger.com

For my Medicare patients undergoing OMT, you may continue your treatments at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, Health Care Specialty Clinic in the Family Medicine Department (330-971-7405). I am currently the Director of Osteopathic Manipulation at the hospital and I have supervised the training in OMT of all the residents. I am confident in their capabilities. For other patients, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny (Director of OsteoMed II) and Dr. Cindy Fraed are available for your OMT needs. At either location, I know you will be in very good hands!

I understand this may be an inconvenience for some of you but I wanted you to know there are options that I trust to provide the quality alternative treatments you are used to. I am extremely confident that my colleagues will treat you with upmost respect and the caring you deserve. If you have any further questions or to schedule an appointment, please feel free to contact my Akron office at 330-864-8898 or Osteomed at 440-239-3438. We will do our best to help you during my temporary absence to serve our country.

I will resume my roles in Akron and at OsteoMed in May until July and again in September. Until then, I wish all of you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Clay Walsh,

Lieutenant Colonel, Senior Flight Surgeon, Ohio Air National Guard
